August 2017 has just landed on our collective calendars and a new month means a warm breeze of new video game releases to lighten our wallets with. While weather here in the US is getting hotter, so seem the incoming titles as quite a few come from big franchises and are sure to be big hits. The Drake-less side adventure Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, the zippy throwback platformer Sonic Mania, and the feels-y prequel Life is Strange: Before the Storm arguably have the most hype surrounding them.

The theme for this month seems to be console ports, as a few popular PC gems are being introduced to consoles. These include the likes of unique pixelated creation Undertale, the well-endowed survival game Conan Exiles, and also the zombie-murdering Killing Floor 2 ‘s inclusion on the Xbox One. Others from August 2017 include early preview releases of Call of Duty: WWII and the Behemoth-slaying RPG Dauntless, as well as notable new content for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Metal Gear Solid V.
