Owners of the PS4 and Xbox One have been waiting patiently for the announcement of the Resident Evil Revelations release date Capcom, as seen below from the franchise’s official Twitter, has finally announced the release date for these titles on their respective consoles. Included in the tweet was a surprising revelation about the future of these titles – owners of the Nintendo Switch will be able to get their hands on copies of these titles as well.

What is surprising about the information included with the Resident Evil Release date is that Capcom previously stated they had no plans for Resident Evil on the Nintendo Switch. Regardless of what producer Masachika Kawata had to say on the matter, it seems as though these two titles are destined for the Switch. This begs the question on whether or not Capcom plans to release more of their horror titles on the console as well.

Resident Evil Revelations’ release schedule has had a history of console hopping since it was originally available only on the 3DS before making its way to PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. The second title in the series was released on PC and PS Vita respectively. Now, it would seem the titles will all land on the three major consoles within the year.

The Resident Evil Revelations release date for the Nintendo Switch was only noted that it would be available later this year. Whether that’s in hard copy or E-Shop remains to be seen. The PS4 and Xbox One versions, however, will have both physical and digital releases for the North American and European fan base on August 29th, 2017.
