Zombie Co-Op Shooter ‘Killing Floor 2’ Headed to Xbox One Next Month

Killing Floor 2 Feature

Nothing builds friendships quite like slaying hordes of zombies and now it seems that Xbox One players are about to get in on that favored past time. Tripwire Interactive’s first-person shooter, Killing Floor 2 is headed to Microsoft’s gaming console in August. So strap in zombie hunters, it’s going to be a wild ride.

Killing Floor 2 is a co-op first person shooter that takes place in Europe following an epidemic of zombie-esque creatures known as Zeds. Survival Mode allows for one to six players to team up and slay waves of various Zeds. If you like team based PvP, don’t worry, Tripwire has you covered. In Killing Floor 2’s PvP mode, two teams of six get to inflict massive carnage on each other. One team is designated as the survivors, while the other team takes on the role of the blood-thirsty Zeds. Fun for the whole family.

Early Access for the title launched back in 2015, but was later released on PC and PlayStation 4 in 2016. Xbox One users will be able to join in on the carnage in August of this year for the semi-low price of $40. Players will have access to all previously released content for the game as well as a timed exclusive weapon called the Freezethrower – a flame thrower that emits showers of liquid nitrogen instead of scolding flames. Another timed exclusive that Xbox console owners will receive is the Wasteland Armor along with a handful of various skins for the uniform. Those that are preparing to purchase Microsoft’s upgraded console, Xbox One X will be able to enjoy Killing Floor 2 in 4K resolution thanks to Tripwire’s commitment to adding improved performance and support for the upcoming super-console.

Currently, the co-op zombie shooter has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, with an 87% of over 30,000 reviews. Not too shabby for a developer that has self published. Killing Floor 2 is currently available on PC and PlayStation 4, and will be available on Xbox one on August 29th.
