It’s September 2017 and the reality of a new month means another fresh batch of games to wet our whistles with. Not only are there new titles on the way, but also microconsoles based on a few classic gaming platforms are debuting, including the much-hyped SNES Classic Edition. The top titles to be released include the interstellar shooter Destiny 2, the super-powered clash Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, and the gorgeous cartoon throwback Cuphead.

The next few weeks looks to introduce quite a number of follow-up titles, making “sequels” the theme for September 2017. The expansive RPG Divinity: Original Sin II, racing simulator Project Cars 2, and the RTS crossover Total War: Warhammer II are just a few of the follow-up offerings. A few more adventures gamers can pursue include a 2D Metroid game hitting the Nintendo 3DS (Metroid: Samus Returns), a violent mission to assassinate a supernatural bad (Dishonored: Death of the Outsider), or a story exploration of Bruce Wayne’s alter ego (Batman: The Enemy Within).
