Telltale’s ‘Batman: The Enemy Within’ Trailer Sheds Light on Dark Story (VIDEO)

telltale goodness

Anyone that has played any of Telltale’s games are well aware of their ability to create a deep story full of emotions. Fear, sadness, amazement, and even love are just a few emotions that players will experience while playing a Telltale game. With their latest titleBatman: The Enemy Within, it looks as though fear will be prominent throughout the new story as Batman/Bruce Wayne attempts to track down and stop Edward Nigma, a.k.a. The Riddler. Check out the trailer below:

As can be seen from the above trailer, Batman: The Enemy Within looks to have a horror feel to it. The new story, following the success of Batman: The Telltale Series, focuses on the twisted mind of The Riddler. This version of The Riddler is incredibly dark and  somewhat reminiscent of Jigsaw from the SAW franchise. Riddler’s aesthetics have even gotten a makeover, and at times almost looks like the Emerald Archer known as Green Arrow, but don’t be fooled – this villain kills with puzzles, not arrows.

Fans will also notice that Batman’s arch nemesis Joker will also be in Enemy Within. At one point, Joker tells Bruce Wayne that he is ready to collect on “that favor you owe me”, which can’t possibly lead to anything good. We also get a quick shot of The Crown Prince of Crime taking a selfie with Bruce, which, let’s face it, is a total modern Joker move.

Other notable characters in the trailer are Gotham’s head of police, Commissioner Gordon and The head of ARGUS, Amanda Waller. Waller is most known for her involvement with the Suicide Squad program, and judging by the Batman: The Enemy Within trailer, there may be some Suicide Squad cameos in the new title. We certainly hope so.

Telltale’s Batman: The Enemy Within arrives on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on August 8. Are you ready to return to Gotham to stop the maniacal Riddler?
