Knack Makes a Comeback with Knack 2 at PSX (VIDEO)

Sony announces the sequel to Knack during PlayStation Experience today with a trailer, and it looks like a grand time. While the official release date has not been announced, it is unclear if it will make a debut on other platforms besides the PlayStation 4. However, there are several observations players can make from this sneak peek. It looks as though the cooperative aspect remains, but whether or not you can drop in and out at your whim remains a mystery. With a game like Knack 2, it would only make sense to have a cooperative playing experience.

Knack is a brawler, beat-em-up game with puzzles and unapologetic mowing over of NPCs of varying origins. Ogres, humans, and giant mechs – oh my! You can’t exempt innocent inanimate objects, of course. Why do you think there’s a room in pretty much all Zelda games, wherein you are allowed to smash dozen upon dozens of clay pots? It’s because we’re all animals. Deep down. Let’s be real, most people can’t smash a giant wooden crate with one swipe. Personally, to have the ability of super strength would be all sorts of awesome.

The game was released in North America on November 15th, 2013 for the PlayStation 4. There have been mixed responses from forums, game critics, and gaming news sites everywhere, but that hasn’t stopped this sequel. Despite professional industry reviews, brawler and hack ‘n slash type games are typically mindless fun. Does it mean you have to strip out a good and sensible story line? Not necessarily, but they don’t all need to have a complex story arc in order for you to game on.

What do you think, gamers? Were you a fan of Knack? Are you surprised that Knack 2 has been announced? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
