New Details on Battlefield 1’s Russian Expansion and Upcoming Content Teased

Russian Expansion

The next expansion on Battlefield 1’s list is called In the Name of the Tsar. There’s very little information concerning the DLC up until this point. Aside from the fact that it will be centered around the Russians, you could say all’s been quiet on the Eastern front. New details have been released by EA concerning the new Russian expansion as well as some insight on other new content on the horizon for the Battlefield franchise.

Russian Expansion

A full reveal for the Russian expansion will be featured at this year’s EA Play, which will begin on June 10th. For now, fans will have to suffice with just knowing that the content is coming. In the Name of the Tsar will be released late summer, suggesting sometime around August or September and will feature the usual Battlefield 1 DLC content. This includes new maps, new weapons and vehicles, playable Russians, and more.

Russian Expansion

Between now and then there will be some new content concerning the French releasing as well. Nivelle Nights is a French map set during the Nivelle Offensive and will be released in June and a second map called the Prise de Tahure. This second map will be going into testing  shortly and there is no word yet on when players can expect to play it within the full game.Below is the full description of the upcoming map according to the website:

In the autumn after the Nivelle Offensive, Prise de Tahure sees French troops desperately holding on to re-captured heights in the Butte-de-Tahure region. The frontline trench networks cut right through several villages facing obliteration from the constant skirmishing between German stormtroopers and French raiders. This is a war of attrition. Adaptability and tactics are the means to wear your adversary down.”

Lastly, Battlefield’s CTE received some new info regarding the monthly update for May. The info includes minor bug fixes and tweaks to the gameplay, including a particular noteworthy change of playlists for Operations. It will be a nice addition to no longer have to exit and re-enter just to play the Operations, which are arguably one of the best game modes within Battlefield 1.

The content for Battlefield 1 is turning out to be quite impressive. With the vast amount of maps and more content coming, what are you looking forward to see most?
