Fortnite NFL Outfits Removed From Store, Developer Responds
Just a few days ago, Epic Games had announced that Fortnite would be getting official uniforms from the NFL (National Football League), with said outfits quickly appearing on the Fortnite cosmetic store. While many expected this to be the dawn of a new era filled with touchdown dance-infused victory celebrations, a new Tweet from the Fortnite Twitter page revealed that the new outfits have already been removed, within about a week of their official debut. The Tweet can be seen below:

A collaboration between Epic Games and the NFL is certainly an impressive feat, which makes it all the stranger that it was so short lived. There is currently no solid reasoning as to the ‘why’ behind the removal of the outfits from the store, though some are already suggesting that it may have to do with players kneeling to the ground using the uniforms, which is still a hotly debated topic within the NFL.
In response to the confusion, Epic Games community manager Nick Chester recently took to Twitter to shed some light on the whole thing, saying that “This is consistent with how we cycle every other skin into the game. No items stay in our store long term.” What Chester did not reveal is when the NFL outfits are expected to show up again, though there is a strong chance that they will reappear for the 2019 playoffs.
Fortnite is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
