Fallout 76 Players Are Acting Like NPCs to Help Out Newbies (VIDEO)

Fallout 76

Fallout 76 is finally here, allowing for fans take take to Appalachia alone or with friends in the very first online experience for the franchise. With the game being quite different this time around, players are able to experience something that isn’t quite what they may have been expecting.

Unlike other games within the Fallout franchise, there’s a peculiar lack of human NPCs. There are plenty of robots, Super Mutants, Scorched, and cryptids to be found roaming the world but raiders, faction NPCs, and more are all quite dead. While many fans were not particularly fond of this feature when the game was first announced, some are beginning to take matters into their own hands by taking on the roles of NPCs and helping others on their journey through the West Virginia wasteland. One player in particular is a known YouTuber going by the moniker “Many A True Nerd”:

This particular YouTuber is well known for playing challenging games from start to finish without the help of healing items. An impressive feat to be sure but with a game like Fallout 76 where food and water act as both survival and healing items, that just isn’t possible. Since “Many A True Nerd” has been playing the game since the B.E.T.A. and everything was carried over to the official release of the title, he’s gathered up quite a stock of items. Now he is going around to various camps and new player hotspots in order to offer fresh vaulters weapons, armor, food, water, healing supplies, and more to help get them back on their feet and into the action.

“Many A True Nerd” is not alone in this endeavor, and other players are beginning to do things similarly, including myself. If you see a Stash8 roaming the wasteland of Appalachia on PC, be sure to pop by and say hello.

Fallout 76 is currently available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Let us know your thoughts on the latest title in the franchise and players taking on NPC roles in the comments section below.
