Fortnite Confirms No Build Mode Is Permanent

Fortnite

Fortnite set itself apart in the battle royale scene with its unique building mechanics, allowing players to engage in chaotic battles all while creating defenses on the fly. For some, the mechanic brings an intriguing new way to play a battle royale shooter, while for others the mechanics is tedious and unnecessary for most engagements. The developers have also done a good job of continuously bringing in new content and mechanics to further improve the base gameplay loops or force players to fight creatively, keeping the game fresh for players who enjoy the title. Now the game has a new way to play that caters to players who value skills over construction, with the developers recently announcing that this new game mode will be permanent.

Epic Games recently announced that there will be a new no build mode going forward. Players can jump into a Zero Build match easily through the Discover menu, choosing between the Solo, Duo, Trio, or Squad playlists. Due to the developer taking away the ability to build in this mode, players are given some buffs such as a recharging overshield to help players soak up a bit more damage than they might be used to. In this mode being able to take some hits won’t help without the ability to move between cover, find Ascenders, or using the mantling mechanic to gain the high ground on foes in order to earn that sweet, sweet Victory Royale.

Fortnite is currently available for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
