Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order: New Story, Release Details Leak
Star Wars is seemingly bursting from every avenue of entertainment these days, with new movies, TV shows, and books releasing at a fairly regular pace. However, one avenue where releases have notably been slow-going is the realm of gaming, where the Star Wars Battlefront series remains one of the only big titles spawned in the years since Disney took over the galaxy far, far, away.
Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment is looking to fill the Star Wars void with Jedi Fallen Order, a mysterious new title announced earlier this year. The months since have been less friendly with information, with only vague story tidbits, and endless speculation to tide fans over in the meantime. It now appears that new details have been revealed for Jedi Fallen Order, introducing information about the game’s story and when we can expect the game to eventually release.
According to a user on Reddit, the game will reportedly take place 5 years following the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and follow a new Padawan character named “Cal,” who was lucky enough to escape execution from the dreaded Order 66. Players were said to encounter several characters from the comics along the way, as well as a mentor figure by the name of Ceres. Other names mentioned in the leak were Inquisitors such as the Ninth Sister and an unknown “2nd Sister,” but it wasn’t revealed how they would factor into the game.
While this potential leak would provide plenty of inklings about the story, one of the more intriguing details revealed was Jedi Fallen Order’s scheduled release window, which was said to sit at November 2019. This would place the launch shortly before the theatrical opening of Star Wars: Episode IX, staying in line with another recent report suggesting a late 2019 release.
It’s currently anyone’s guess whether any of these details are correct, but it’s probably best to err on the side of caution and keep those grains of salt handy. Despite questionable validity, these potential details nonetheless seem pretty compelling, especially for fans hungry for a single-player Star Wars campaign. Until we get word from Respawn or Electronic Arts, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order still has no official release date.
