Titanfall Developer Working On New First-Person Title

Titanfall

The Titanfall franchise has grown far beyond the original 2014 release, having provided fans with a unique blend of fast-paced shooter action, a dark and gritty world, as well as combat built around mechanized warfare. Titanfall 2 was an excellent addition to the series, furthering its fluid combat and story, but since then, there hasn’t been much concerning a third title. Instead, fans received the highly enjoyable Apex Legends, a battle royale title that has kept up quite well over the years bringing fans energetic gunplay across a variety of colorful environments. It would be safe to say that the name of the game for Respawn titles these days is ‘speed’ and that mentality appears to be continuing forward even into new titles, whether they be additions to the Titanfall franchise or not.

Previously, leaks surrounding Respawn have hinted at the possibility that the company will be providing fans with a new first-person shooter title steeped in “style” and “mobility”. If a recent job listing provides any indication, it would appear that the title will also be set in the same universe as the Titanfall series and Apex Legends. The listing specifically describes the recruitment of a hard surface artist into the “Apex Universe FPS Incubation” for a brand new single-player title. While there isn’t much else to go on here, it is good to see that the team is looking at returning to a solo experience for the Titanfall universe.

Titanfall

Currently, the only official titles that fans are aware of at the moment for Respawn Entertainment are the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Survivor as well as a couple of other unannounced Star Wars-related projects so the rumors and job listings should be taken with a grain of salt. Still, seeing what else Respawn can do with the impressive world they’ve built would be quite enjoyable to see. What kind of story would you like to see in the Titanfall universe?
