Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Gains New Update For Next-Gen Consoles

Star Wars Jedi

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order made quite the impact when it released back in 2019, bringing players a wonderful tale as they explore various planets in the boots of Cal Kestis, a former Jedi padawan who managed to escape Order 66 and go into hiding. While the title initially launched on last-gen consoles, Jedi: Fallen Order has been slated to become available on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 as well, boasting a number of visual and performance improvements. This past week saw the new update arrive, supplying some sweet upgrades and making the game just that much better on the latest generation hardware.

A new post from EA details the changes currently available on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, it giving Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order a significant boost in resolution and framerates. The mainline Series X increases post-processing to 4K resolution with dynamic resolution in the range of 1512p to 2160p, while an added performance mode enables 60 FPS gameplay and dynamic resolution in the range of 1080p to 1440p. The lower-end Series S keeps in line with the performance mode, upgrading the original 45 FPS to a smoother 60 FPS. On the other hand, PlayStation 5 has disabled dynamic resolution, rendering the game in 1200p, though, increasing post-processing to 1440p.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is currently available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Google Stadia, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. Now that next-gen is in full gear, it’s good to see any and all improvements that the developers bring to the game. Now, if only fans could see some new story content, whether it’s DLC, a sequel, or something else entirely.
