Bosses are an integral part of many gaming experiences, allowing players to show off all the skills they’ve picked up thus far and utilize them in the heat of epic battle. The MMO and multiplayer genres are quite keen on this type of experience, allowing fans to team up with other players as they cooperate in taking on impressive foes. Of course, a game such as Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance will have bosses of its own, and a new trailer has arrived showing off a small taste of the battle that awaits players as well as finally revealing a release date for the title.

The trailer features the 4 heroes of the game, Drizzt Do’Urden, Catti-Brie, Bruenor Battlehammer, and Wulfgar all doing battle against a powerful beholder named Hagedorn. As per the video’s description, “Powerful magic crystals give him abilities far more terrifying than other Beholders. You are all that stands in the way of Hagedorn and his army of duergar.” Check out the new Dark Alliance footage below.

The cycloptic boss appears as though he’ll be quite the challenge, with the beholder wielding powerful magic and physical attacks that force players to constantly be on their guard, whether it’s dodging AoE attacks, escaping Hagedorn’s gaping maw, or chasing him back down after he jumps around the battlefield. Players will need to be at the top of their game if they want to take down this particular Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance enemy.

Dark Alliance is currently looking to arrive on June 22nd of this year for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. It’ll be interesting to see what other mean, nasty creatures await players in Icewind Dale but for now, Hagedorn will have to be enough to sate the curiosity of fans.
