Cube World Receives Surprise Release Date Following Years Of Silence (VIDEO)

Cube World

Way back in 2011 Cube World was conceived as a voxel-based action role-playing game where players could explore a randomly generated world. The game saw an alpha get released back in 2013 but saw few updates since, and communication with the developers was sparse at best. With the extended period of silence, it was believed that the title was vaporware and never to see the light of day. However, a recent trailer has arrived surprising fans not only with the notion that it’s still alive and kicking, but that it will be releasing incredibly soon.

Cube World takes inspiration from many classic RPGs such as The Legend of Zelda, World of Warcraft, and Secret of Mana while carrying itself with the aesthetic of Minecraft. Players will be able to create a character with customizable looks and choose one of four classes with each having their own weapons, skills, and armors. From there they’ll be able to explore the world, fight enemies, craft items and gear, tame large animals to fight alongside them or use as mounts, and more.

Cube World is set to release on September 30th through Steam but even with the date closing in fast a price tag has yet to be revealed. Players who purchased the alpha of the game back in 2013 will automatically receive a Steam key for the full title and will gain early access on September 23rd.
