Resident Evil 7’s Chris Redfield Model Found In Resident Evil 2
Capcom’s highly anticipated Resident Evil 2 Remake debuted late last week, much to the delight of the fans that have been waiting to take either Leon Kennedy or Claire Redfield for a spin around the Raccoon City Police Department. For those unfamiliar, Claire journeyed to Raccoon City to find her brother, Chris Redfield, who hadn’t been heard from for quite some time. Now, it has been revealed that he was hiding in the files of the game all along!
The news comes by way of a post over on the Resident Evil Modding Forum, with one user posting several images from the Resident Evil 2 Remake depicting the version of Chris Redfield that we are now familiar with from the Resident Evil 7: Not a Hero DLC. According to the user, the model of Chris that is being used in these images was placed over the model of Leon Kennedy while wearing his Noir costume. Check it out below:
According to the poster, Chris’ model in the game is “perfectly playable,” although “when he puts his weapons away, they will just follow him on the ground.” This is of course all rather suspect, as Chris Redfield isn’t typically a playable character within Resident Evil 2. That said, Capcom pulled out all the stops for the remake, and Chris is certainly referenced a number of times within the game. Perhaps he’ll show up in a future DLC?
The Resident Evil 2 Remake is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
So, thoughts on the Chris Redfield model being discovered within the game? What do you think it could mean?
