When Monster Hunter RISE was announced it seemed as if Capcom was taking a step backwards in terms of Monster Hunter franchise availability, especially in consideration to the now widely available Monster Hunter World. Thankfully, even though the focus will be on the Switch version of the game, players on PC will be able to get a chance to get in on the hunt as well, albeit a bit later.

While the game was originally only announced for the Nintendo Switch, a recent information dump by way of a Capcom interview reveals that the game will be seeing a PC port sometime early 2022. The series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto confirmed the port has been on its way for some time now, but didn’t give out much information due to it still being too early in the development phase.

As you know, Monster Hunter Rise is coming to Switch at the end of March. In response to a lot of fan feedback, we’ve decided to move forward with a PC version as well, which will be released in early 2022. It’s still very much in development so we can’t share too much, but that will be coming early next year.”

A plethora of gameplay details surrounding Monster Hunter RISE were also discussed, from taking the best parts of other titles like World’s streamlined armor system and skill points to new content being made specifically for RISE such as the Rampage quests and Silkbind arts. As with many of the various title in the franchise, Monster Hunter RISE will also feature the return of Apex monsters, though these ones won’t be tied to G Rank like in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and they’ll be arriving sometime after launch similar to the way they appeared in Monster Hunter World. This also applies to Master Rank hunts, being post-release content that may or may not make an appearance at some point.

Monster Hunter RISE is set to launch March 26th of this year for the Nintendo Switch. There was no official release date revealed for when players can expect to play the game on PC, so unfortunately fans will need to bide their time for more details.
