Monster Hunter World's 'The Witcher' Crossover Launches Next Month

Capcom’s Monster Hunter World has been no stranger to crossover events, the most recent of which being the Assassin’s Creed event that arrived late last year for PS4 and Xbox One. Yet another crossover event was also announced last month, this time featuring The Witcher himself, Geralt of Rivia. Now, Capcom has announced an official release date for the upcoming update for consoles.

The news comes by way of the official Monster Hunter Twitter account, which revealed today that the highly anticipated update will be hitting both PS4 and Xbox One on February 8. Being implemented into the game as a free title update, the Monster Hunter World/Witcher collaboration will feature a unique quest line featuring Geralt of Rivia himself, which makes us wonder how he’ll do when presented with a talking cat. According to the publisher, fans will get a chance to experience Geralt’s signature fighting style, seamlessly blending swordplay, combat magic, and an assortment of monster hunting equipment.” Capcom described the event as follows:

Worlds will collide with the next big Monster Hunter: World collaboration – The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt! Step into the shoes of Geralt of Rivia and leverage his expert monster hunting skills as you take on a unique quest line in Monster Hunter: World. Free title update coming to #MHWorld in early 2019.”

Monster Hunter World is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The Witcher event launches for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 8, with no word on when PC gamers can expect the update to arrive.
