New Leaked Poster Gives Release Date and Beta Period for Destiny 2

Don’t you just love it when companies goof up and it ends up giving us as fans exactly the info we’ve been looking for? In the case of the promotional art seen below, GameStop Italy suffered a photo leak of the promotional materials they received for Destiny 2. The possible launch revealed is set for September 8th as well as “beta in anticipio” or “beta available in advance” for players to enjoy ahead of the scheduled release.

The image itself comes from one NeoGAF user – HigXx – and if you’re not up to date on your Italian, it reads “Alliance of the Guardians” (“lega dei guardiani”. There hasn’t been any official word from Activision or Bungie at this time, but if Jason from Kotaku is to be believed, then we can expect an official announcement later on today in the wake of this leak. Until that happens, though as legitimate as this photo feels – take all unconfirmed news with a grain of salt.

We’ve had several glimpses at this sequel so far, such as the job postings found earlier, but one thing that is in sync with all of these tid-bits is that we will see Destiny 2 this year. No doubt a special highlight to be featured at this year’s E3, as well, which we will be attending. The title itself is also said to be the configuration of all fan-feedback. Unlike the ‘mistake’ the developers made with the sequel’s predecessor, Destiny 2 will not forgo their attention to the story this time around. Though the first one warmed up to the community as a whole with the release of very successful expansions, Destiny 2 wants to get it right at launch.

What do you guys think so far of Destiny 2? Are you excited to see what Bungie does with the player feedback? Join in on the conversation in the comments below, and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter for gaming and entertainment news live 24/7!
