Borderlands 3 Official Announcement From Gearbox Could Be Closer Than You Think
It’s been been awhile since fans have seen a Borderlands title and anticipation has been rising for the third iteration in the series. Borderlands 3 has yet to be officially announced, however the game is known to be in development. A new Gearbox job listing continues to fuel the fires of theorists all over by nearly confirming once more that the game is still in production.
The listing asks for a writer on an unannounced AAA FPS/ RPG hybrid with strong characters as well as a central narrative thread. While this information in no way states the title in question is Borderlands 3, it does provide some compelling evidence of the possibility. Not only has the Borderlands series been primarily FPS/ RPG focused, but they also have a lot of humor within their scripts, something that the listing also requests.
The successful candidate will join the writing team to write, punch up and iterate scripts in-line with established story and plot outlines. Responsibilities will include writing dialogue for voice-over and in-game text for missions, flavor and user interfaces. A love for comedy writing with respect for a serious underlying plot is helpful. The ability to work with a team and to accept notes, criticism and the iterative process is a must.
There’s not much that’s really known about Borderlands 3 at this point, which includes story details or even when the game will be released; though the Gearbox did let it slip at this year’s E3 that there was more to visit concerning Tiny Tina’s story. Could this truly be a listing for a job on the next Borderlands title or is it something else entirely? Let us know your thoughts on the Gearbox job listing and more in the comments section below.
