Dying Light 2 Devs Clarify How Much Time Players Will Spend In-Game
The content of a title will always trump its length as a short, well-made, and intriguing title is far more enjoyable than one that’s simply long. Still, seeing a title that players can sink a ton of time into can be quite enjoyable as well. Dying Light is a great title with a blend of both, allowing for players to engage with a campaign while also giving them a chance to experiment and grow with their playstyles. Dying Light 2 on the other hand is looking to ramp that level of engagement up immensely, with a whopping 500 hours to complete the game in its entirety.
500 hours seems like a crazy amount of time for a campaign for a title, thankfully, Techland has stepped forward to clarify just how the time for Dying Light 2 is broken down to make up such a long amount of time. The main story for the game will be something around the 20-hour mark or 80 hours if players take on every sidequest as well. The 500 hours of playtime is estimated for players who listen to every dialogue, find every collectible, discover every easter egg, and more. Essentially, 500 hours is what it would take to 100% complete the title, and that isn’t covering the time for experimenting with the upcoming title’s new gadgets and weapons.

The lengthy playtime for Dying Light 2 sounds impressive, albeit a bit daunting. Though, it’s good to see players will be able to take on the title at their own pace and feel like they’ve made a dent in their progress. The title is set to release on February 4th of this year for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
