Destiny 2 Loot Chests Bug to Be Fixed in Future Patch
Opening Destiny 2 loot chests too quickly results in a “lockout” in which players are unable to receive the rewards of the chest in question. This is similar to a system used in the first Destiny to prevent players from farming resources too quickly. However, while this shouldn’t affect things like Cayde’s Stashes or Lost Sector chests which take quite a bit of effort in order to unlock, the unfortunate fact is that it did affect aspects like that in-game causing a lot of player frustration.
In the latest weekly update, Bungie has confirmed this theory to be true, explaining that opening too many planetary chests in a short amount of time will result in the player unable to receive rewards. Just like it was stated in the theory, the Lost Sector chests and Cayde’s Stashes should be able to be opened no matter how many are attained or how much time players took to open them.
Cayde’s Stash, Lost Sector, and Planetary Chest Reward IssuesWe are investigating reports of players opening rewards chests and not receiving loot. If you are encountering this issue, please post a report to the #Help forum detailing the following:
- Which type of chest did not grant rewards?
- Had you interacted with alternate chests or planetary materials prior to this issue occurring?
This isn’t the first time Bungie has had a quick response to one of the game’s bugs, such as when an exploit was found during the game’s Trials of the Nine. Destiny 2 is available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 with a release on PC arriving on October 24th. Have you been locked out of Destiny 2 loot chests?
