Anthem Devs Reveal More On Character Customization And Voice Options

Anthem Character Customization

As 2018 comes to a close, gamers are eagerly looking forward to all of the big releases coming next year. One of the most anticipated of these games happens to be one of the earlier releases of 2019, Anthem. The new project by beloved developer BioWare is promising to send players to a brave new world with unique fresh characters. BioWare has provided glimpses before of many of the customization options for the Javelin suits used in the game, but fans have been wanting to know more about these options for the  player character. Now, BioWare has provided more insight into the Anthem character customization and voice over options.

Mike Gamble BioWare recently spoke with ComicBook.com to provide all of these details. It seems that while Anthem will feature many player character customization options, the customization system will not be as complex or robust as BioWare fans have come to expect from games like Dragon Age: Inquisition. Gamble gives two main reasons for the reduced amount of character customization, with the first being how much customization will be available for the Javelin suits. Preview livestreams have already exhibited the various design and armor styles that will be available in the game.

The second reason given involves cutscenes, and how they will mainly be shown from the player character’s first-person perspective. Given this visual choice, BioWare deemed it less necessary for greater customization abilities if they aren’t going to be witnessed for such a significant amount of time in the game. This may come as a disappointment to some players, but given how this can allow for greater resources to be allocated elsewhere in the game, hopefully this decision can be understood. At least knowing that romance isn’t in the game, at least now players don’t have to worry about looking  good for their alien senpai.

In regards to the voice options, the BioWare team also confirmed once again that the player’s character has a voice, something we’ve seen for ourselves during a recent livestream. Additionally, fans can look forward to having at least two voice options to choose from when customizing their characters.
