Fire Emblem: Three Houses Actor Removed After Sexual Harassment Allegations

It was recently revealed that voice actor Chris Niosi was one of the key vocal talents to Fire Emblem: Three Houses as the main protagonist. The actor was also set to portray Byleth in the mobile spin-off of the series called Fire Emblem Heroes. Since then allegations of sexual harassment have arisen, and his credit has since been removed from both games.

Niosi recently confessed on his personal Tumblr account to multiple incidents of abuse towards friends and loved ones, a confession caused an uproar amongst fans. One of the incidents that Niosi described was one that saw him bragging to a victim about his role in Fire Emblem: Three Houses as the male protagonist. At the time, this was in clear violation of the NDA the actor signed. The actor’s name has since been removed from the in-game credits and replaced with another actor by the name of Zach Aguilar.

While the release of Fire Emblem Heroes’ Byleth has been postponed, Three Houses still recently saw its release. Nintendo of America revealed in a recent report that an upcoming patch would change his inclusion entirely. Unfortunately, there is no expected release date for this patch, though with the quick response the publisher has had to the allegations already, it wouldn’t be surprising to see something soon.

After assessing the situation, we decided to re-record the character’s voiceovers in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Heroes with another actor. The new voiceovers will be included in a future patch.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses was recently released on July 26th as a Nintendo Switch exclusive. Let us know your thoughts on the sexual harassment allegations and more in the comments section below.
