The Deadpool 2 hype train just “can’t stop, won’t stop” rolling! On the third, a teaser appeared before viewings of Logan, today Ryan Reynolds has posted comedic images of a new casting. That of course being “Atlanta” actress Zazie Beetz as Domino, the extremely lucky mutant.

Domino was born as a genetic experiment under Project: Armageddon. This project was designed to create the perfect weapon. If you’re new to comics, get used to that, it’s a running theme of super secret projects. Using the precognitive mutant Beatrice, the project birthed multiple children. One of these children was Neena Thurman, aka Domino – and because of that, she has telekinetic power.  To put it more precisely, she manipulates luck, though she doesn’t seem to be in total control of this power. While most mutants can actively use their powers regardless of the situation, Domino cannot. Her power is subconsciously activated only in stressful situations. The power cannot manifest itself without Domino actively engaging the situation. It’s an interesting power, to say the least, coupled with being a highly trained combatant and marksman – Domino is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

Why does this matter to fans? Because she is set to appear in Deadpool 2 alongside her love interest, Cable. Within the comics, Cable leads the X-Force, a more aggressive and militant version of the X-Men. Domino is also most well known for her time in the X- Force. This brings us to the latest two teases from the Merc with a Mouth himself, Ryan Reynolds:

Why that cheeky bugger. The dominoes in the image spell out Zazie Beetz, if that isn’t a tease then who knows what is. While it wasn’t confirmed by Beetz directly, she did retweet congratulations she received about the role. There was a second photo released an hour later that was very obvious as opposed to the previous image:

Seems we can always count on Reynolds for a good laugh. As for Beetz, she was a breakout star in Atlanta as the character Van, best friend to Donald Glover’s character and mother of his child. Now while we have our Domino, who knows who will play Cable. Rob Liefeld, creator of the the X-Force and director of Deadpool 2 has his hopes on Russell Crowe, but who knows what the future holds.
