Xbox Game Pass Adds Rage And DOOM To Its Library

Xbox Game Pass

The Xbox Game Pass features a massive collection of games which players can play for a small monthly subscription fee. Giving players the ability to catch up before the release of some of the most anticipated titles coming soon, the Microsoft subscription service invites players to wake up from cryo-sleep and save the future with the prequel to the upcoming post apocalyptic shooter Rage 2 as well as the first title in the rebooted demon-slayer franchise DOOM.

Rage is set in a post apocalyptic near future after the crash of the asteroid 99942 Apophis effectively destroys most of the human population. Players take on the role of a former US Marine, Lieutenant Nicholas Raine, as he emerges from stasis in an underground shelter called an Ark after being asleep for 106 years. With superhuman abilities given to him from before going into hibernation, Raine must uncover the secrets of the Authority and find a way to survive the wastelands with the help of guns, vehicles, and a trusty boomerang type weapon known as a “wingstick.”

DOOM is fairly straight forward. After waking up from a deep slumber in a sarcophagus, the Slayer fights across hordes of demons in a research facility located on Mars. There are small nods to the original titles in the form of secret, hidden locations which feature small portions of classic Doom levels, brilliant music from the incredibly talented Mick Gordon, and fast paced action that builds upon classic twitch shooters such as Quake and Unreal Tournament.
