Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Gets Invaded By NieR: Automata's 2B With This Mod

The modding community has been having an amazing time with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, proving once again that nothing is sacred and that no game protagonist is safe from Thomas the Tank Engine. Now, in a decidedly lovely spin on things, a new mod has surfaced that introduces NieR: Automata’s 2B to the world of Sekiro.

Modder Forsakensilver recently uploaded the ‘YoRHa No.2 Type B (2B) mod over on Nexus Mods. According to the creator, the mod simply replaces the protagonist’s character model in the game, complete with 2B’s default katanas. There is some additional work that needs to be done to get everything to work properly, though. One of the mod’s requirements involves downloading the DS3 and Bloodborne Material Pack, which can be found right here.

The other potential hang-up is the protagonist’s voice in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The yoRHa mod does not include the voice files for 2B, though that can be rectified by downloading the Female injury sound pack. Available right here, it should be noted that the pack does not specifically implement the voice of 2B, just the voice of a female Hunter from Bloodborne.

It is interesting to see so much mod support for Sekiro despite the game’s relatively recent release. If you told me at the game’s launch that you’d someday be able to pit NieR: Automata’s 2B against Shrek, I’d probably laugh, then cry, then laugh, then cry some more. Anyways.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

So, thoughts on the new mod? What other video game characters would you like to see implemented into Sekiro in the future?
