Xbox And Bethesda Summer 2022 Showcase Announced

Xbox and Bethesda Summer 2022

While most of the gaming industry’s big announcements and presentations have historically been made at conferences like E3, recent years have seen a shift towards those presentations being made through digital platforms on social media. With E3’s in-person events having been cancelled now for three years in a row due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the trend for gaming companies to host their own presentations online has only exacerbated. Even before the pandemic, Nintendo and Sony have routinely released their Nintendo Direct and PlayStation State of Play presentations, respectively. Now, an Xbox and Bethesda Summer Showcase has been confirmed to be coming.

Microsoft has announced the Xbox and Bethesda Summer Showcase on their official Twitter account earlier today. The presentation will stream online on Sunday, June 12th at 10 a.m. PT. It has so far been confirmed to be available to watch on Xbox’s official channels on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok and both of Xbox’s standard and ASL Twitch channels. It is also set to be streamed in over 30 languages across the globe simultaneously. This is now the second year of Xbox and Bethesda hosting a joint presentation, with them having first done a combined presentation for E3 2021 after the finalization of Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda.

Xbox Series X

Many gamers may be wondering if Activision Blizzard will have any presence in this presentation also, considering their status as a pending acquired company by Microsoft. With that deal not having closed yet, it may be too soon for Microsoft to officially list them for the presentation. Still, given that future relationship, it is likely that a Call of Duty game or Diablo IV might make an appearance during the event. It is probably a safe bet to assume that Bethesda’s next big game Starfield will also be on-hand as well. Whatever ends up being showcased at the Xbox and Bethesda summer presentation, it’ll surely show the future of Xbox Series X has plenty in store for it. Here’s hoping that includes a gritty reboot of Viva Pinata.
