DOOM Eternal Reveals Glorious Gameplay At QuakeCon 2018 (VIDEO)

DOOM Eternal

This year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo provided fans with plenty of glorious goodies, ranging from a look at that coveted Cyberpunk 2077 demo for some who were in attendance, all the way to outstanding trailers for everyone to enjoy. That said, one game that got a lot of gamers excited was DOOM Eternal.

While the trailer gave fans a nice bone-crushing chill, it was short and to the point, but without gameplay. Luckily, QuakeCon 2018 has given gamers what they desire, with new gameplay footage of the upcoming DOOM Eternal, and it looks oh so good. The Doom Slayer is seen in Hell on Earth, and it looks like he won’t be staying for very long as the game will feature various environments spread across a bounty of locations. You can check out all of the action below:

The footage shows the Doom Slayer ripping and tearing his way through wave after wave of demons, with more gore than ever and incredibly devastating finishing moves. Then again, would we expect nothing less? In any case, let’s break down some of this information, shall we?

DOOM Eternal is set to feature twice as many demons as players encountered in 2016’s DOOM, which is absolutely crazy. That said, among these baddies are a few new gruesome enemies as well as some that fans will remember from previous entries in the franchise. Did someone say Arachnotron? Oh, we’re ready! In addition to this, the enemies players will go up against in the upcoming game will be completely destructible, meaning chunks of their hellish flesh can go flowing anytime you blast them with a shotgun, rocket launcher, etc.

Of course, dispatching baddies isn’t any fun without an arsenal of weaponry fit for a badass. The Doom Slayer has received some upgrades to his armor as well as some choice guns that will make him even more of a murder machine when mowing down demons. To assist with the dismemberment of enemies, the Doom Slayer can be seen using a short-dash that allows players to dodge in a hurry, and the “meat hook” is a nice way to get up close and personal with the demons that seek to end you.

It’s said that this is the most powerful Slayer to date, and we absolutely cannot wait to get our hands on the title. DOOM Eternal is set to arrive on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One, but no release date has been announced as of yet.
