Rocksteady Confirms Next Project Isn’t Superman
For the last year or so, there have been rampant on again off again rumors that developer Rocksteady Studios was hard at work on a new Superman game. These rumors were of course exacerbated even further when the team sent the folks behind Injustice 2 a Superman cake. Now, with The Game Awards 2018 quickly approaching, additional fan fever has begun to stir up among rumors that Rocksteady will finally be announcing the game during the show. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case.
Rocksteady co-founder and director Sefton Hill recently took to Twitter to dispel the ongoing rumors once and for all, revealing that the developer won’t be making any announcements at TGS 2018. Hill drove the nail into the coffin even further by stating that Rocksteady’s next game is definitely not Superman. Check out the tweet below:
Looking forward to #TheGameAwards this year! We’re still hard at work in our development bunker so don’t expect an announcement from @Rocksteadygames. When it’s ready to show, you’ll be the first to know. Spoiler: it’s not Superman ?

“Looking forward to #TheGameAwards this year,” Sefton Hill wrote. “We’re still hard at work in our development bunker so don’t expect an announcement from @Rocksteadygames. When it’s ready to show, you’ll be the first to know. Spoiler: It’s not Superman.” This is unfortunate news for those that have been hoping for a new game that features the Man of Steel, and it would’ve likely helped soften the blow dealt when it was revealed that Henry Cavill was hanging up his cape for good. Alas, we will just have to wait until next year to see what Rocksteady has been up to. Plus, who knows, they could always go back to working on a new Superman game in the future, right?
