Resident Evil Village Barney Mod Turns Enemies Into The Purple Dinosaur (VIDEO)

Resident Evil Village Barney

May has many big game releases on its slate, but perhaps none are as highly anticipated and large scale as the release of Resident Evil Village. The latest core entry in the series is set to continue the renewed focus on horror for the series that returned with Resident Evil VII, as well as the highly-favored remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3. To help entice new fans, a Resident Evil Village demo was released this week, in which players have already found ways to extend its playtime. Not only that, but a new Resident Evil Village Barney mod brings the beloved purple dinosaur to the demo as well.

As reported by GameInformer, modder Marcos RC has shared their new Resident Evil Village Barney mod on their official YouTube channel. The mod replaces the enemies from the Resident Evil Village demo released earlier this week with a digital model of the classic children’s public television educational figure, Barney the Dinosaur. Similar to mods seen from recent Resident Evil games like the Resident Evil 2 mod that replaced Mr. X with characters like Shrek, fans always find a way to bring lighthearted humor to the usually dark horror series.

Hot off of the fans discovering how to extend playtime of the Resident Evil Village demo past the original one hour limit, it is quite amazing that fans were able to figure out how to put custom models in the demo just days after its released. Marcos RC has made their Resident Evil Village Barney mod available for those that contribute to their Patreon page, as well as other mods, such as their mod that replaces the Duke in the Resident Evil Village demo with the Merchant from Resident Evil 4. Hopefully this mod will be made available for the full game, as it will make the total horror experience that much more super-dee-dooper.
