Resident Evil 2 Remake Stream Shows One Hour Of Gameplay (VIDEO)

Capcom has finally released new gameplay footage for its upcoming Resident Evil 2 Remake. Up until now, fans have for the most part only seen Leon Kennedy roaming around the Raccoon City Police Department. Unfortunately, the one hour stream hosted by Capcom community manager Kat still focuses on Leon’s time within the RPD, though the latter half of the stream follows Leon as he begins to find new weapons and upgrades. The full stream can be seen below:

Seen above, the stream starts off with Leon making his way through the front parts of the RPD, with a brief visit to the building’s exterior as requested by those watching the stream. After spending a few minutes treading through previously seen parts of the building, the community manager then reveals an example of the numerous weapon upgrades that players will be able to acquire throughout the game.

For solving a puzzle as Leon, he is rewarded with a custom part for his handgun. “A custom part for the Matilda that extends clip capacity to 24 rounds and shortens reload time,” the description for the High-Capacity Mag. (Matilda) reads. In addition to the weapon upgrades, Leon is also seen wielding a shotgun, which he can switch out for his handgun if he gets into a close-quarters.

It is refreshing to see new Resident Evil 2 Remake gameplay, though hopefully Kat will give us a look at more new gameplay footage at some point in the coming weeks. The Resident Evil 2 Remake arrives on January 25, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
