The upcoming Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will see Ratchet and his robotic pal Clank travel across dimensions to stop Dr. Nefarious from ending the existence of all organic life thanks to a malfunctioning multidimensional device of sorts. Along the way, the titular pair of characters will run into a female Lombax, whose name has been unknown, at least until now. Thankfully, a new gameplay trailer reveals who the new character is as well as some awesome-looking action with both Ratchet and the new protagonist.

The trailer mainly shows off plenty of new gadgets, toys, and comical action, with players able to not only play as Ratchet but also a new female Lombax named Rivet. The new footage also shares that at some point Ratchet and Clank will be separated, and until they reunite with each other once more, Rivet will fill in the shoes of Clank’s companion. This of course means that Rivet will be playable in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, at least until the main duo’s eventual reunion. Until then, it’s nice to officially have a name to put to the face that fans have been so curious about.

Alongside the new trailer, PlayStation revealed in a new blog post that co-founder of the iconic band DEVO, Mark Mothersbaugh is the brain behind the composing of the soundtrack for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. The post also reveals the 5 armor sets that are set to appear within the digital deluxe version of the game, Imperial, Scavenger, Android, Rebel, and Hacker suits all arriving with a distinct look that fans can mix and match. This will allow them to look their very best when taking pictures in the new Photo Mode coming to the franchise for the first time.
