Days Gone 2 Petition Garners Over 80K Signatures

Days Gone 2 Petition

Sony has established a solid lead in the console wars with their PlayStation platform, with a big part of their success coming from their high-quality first-party games. One of their recent first-party big-budget titles was Days Gone, which released back in 2019 to moderate critical reception and sales. While developer Bend Studio started initial work on a sequel, this temperate success (and reportedly low Metacritic score) was not high enough for Sony to warrant a sequel, unfortunately. With fans of the potential franchise hoping to still see a sequel, one particular fan has seen much response in their Days Gone 2 petition.

Days Gone 2 Petition

Change.org user Kanhai Raval recently began a Days Gone 2 petition on the activist website. After hearing the news that Sony shut down progress on the Days Gone sequel at the Bend Studio in favor of having them help with a Naughty Dog project, Raval sought to create this petition to show Sony how much fan interest there still would be in a Days Gone sequel. The petition started out small three weeks ago, with only a few hundred signatures at the time. Now, as of writing, the petition has gathered 89,843 unique signatures, with a goal of 150,000 signatures being shown.

The Days Gone 2 petition has certainly gathered much attention, with even the Days Gone director Jeff Ross sharing the link for the petition on his official Twitter account. While the petition may not in and of itself fully convince Sony to reverse the project’s cancellation, as every signature signed does not necessarily equate to a sale of the hypothetical game, it does show that the franchise still has a passionate fan-base that would love a return to the series. It would be nice to see the undead from Days Gone swarm the pacific northwest again.
