Overwatch Nerf Line Revealed During SDCC, First Look at Reaper’s Gun
Nerf has been around for quite some time allowing fans to fire foam darts at each other in battlefields constructed from their own imaginations. Some pretend they’re assassin’s or spies, others imagine that they’re soldiers on an all-out warzones, and others still assume the role of their favorite characters from various video games such as Overwatch. Now thanks to a partnership with Blizzard, fans will be able to carry weapons like McCree’s Peacekeeper or D.Va’s Light Gun without having to use their imaginations.
While at San Diego Comic Con this year, Blizzard and Nerf announced their partnership in order to bring out a new line of Overwatch-inspired weaponry. In their reveal they introduced the first weapon in the “Nerf Rival” line, taking inspiration from Reaper’s Hellfire Shotguns. Below is an image of the weapon in all its glory. The weapon is not only fully Nerf functional but comes equipped with sound effects and special addition bullets. The weapons may not be an exact match but they do have Reaper’s trademark RPNT emblazoned on the side and holds a decent resemblance to character’s weapon of choice – especially if you like his glacier skin.
It’s too bad the first gun revealed wasn’t a D.Va pistol since there’d be the chance to use the infamous phrase “NERF this!” but surely Nerf wouldn’t miss that golden opportunity, right? The full line will release sometime next year featuring many more foam weapons from your favorite characters.
