Overwatch 2 New York Map Revealed (VIDEO)
Another BlizzCon has finally arrived, and while this year’s event had to shift to an online-only format because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the same fanfare is still to be found. Activision Blizzard has promised new updates regarding current and future Blizzard games, with some of the big franchises including Warcraft, Diablo and Overwatch. While sadly, Activision Blizzard has suggested that the highly anticipated Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 are probably not releasing in 2021, it did seem that they would have new information disclosed during BlizzConline 2021. True to expectations, Blizzard unveiled the new Overwatch 2 New York map that will be featured in the sequel.

Blizzard Entertainment has shared a video on Twitter showcasing the Overwatch 2 New York map that was first revealed during today’s BlizzConline 2021 streaming event. Overwatch is well known for its maps based off of real life locations, with several of them being based off of US cities. Oddly enough, the biggest and perhaps most iconic American city, New York City, has been absent from the world of Overwatch until now.
The developers designed the Overwatch 2 New York map to be reminiscent of both modern and classic New York elements, including firehouses and pizza shops. The map also has a big focus on the iconic Grand Central Station, recreated here with a fresh coat of Overwatch 2 style. Thankfully, both this and the newly revealed Rome map coming with Overwatch 2 will be made available on the original Overwatch game as well. No other details about the map have been revealed so far, but there is still much more of BlizzConline 2021 to be had. Hopefully we see a quick cameo of Pizza Rat or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before the weekend is through.
