New Detective Pikachu Trailer Gives Us Our First Look at Gyarados (VIDEO)

The live-action Detective Pikachu film has been showing off all manner of Pokemon, some appearing cute and cuddly –  while others come off as being straight up terrifying. Pokemon fans have been interested in seeing what other Pokemon look like in this hyper-realistic format, and now fans are able to catch a glimpse of on of the biggest Pokemon around: Gyarados.

For those that love the pocket monsters as much as we do, the intense battles looking gloriously familiar with the characters having to take on the likes of Charizard, Mewtwo, and now Gyarados. The video below shows the massive creature looming overhead of Detective Pikachu and Tim Goodman where it begins to shimmer with a gold light, seemingly in preparation for an attack. It’s pretty epic, check it out:

The upcoming Detective Pikachu film follows Tim Goodman, the son of a police detective, as he searches for his now missing father. Aiding him in this quest is a curious Pikachu, voiced by Ryan Reynolds, who is capable of not only understanding Tim, but can speak with him as well. Together they search for clues and find themselves in one new predicament after another.

Detective Pikachu is set to arrive in theaters May 10th of this year. Are you excited to see what the film has in store for longtime fans of the franchise?
