Detective Pikachu Reveals Pokémon-Filled New Trailer (VIDEO)

Following a pretty spectacular trailer a number of months ago, fans couldn’t say enough about the upcoming Detective Pikachu movie, whether it be the hyper-realistic look of certain Pokémon or the hilarious quips dropped by rosy-cheeked one himself Ryan Reynolds. Warner Bros. have now revealed yet another look at Pokémon Detective Pikachu, revealing more clues about the movie’s mystery and a bevy of new Pocket Monsters for fans to feast their eyes upon.

Immediately, the trailer addressing some of the previous trailer‘s mysteries, specifically revealing Detective Pikachu’s amnesia and how the talkative critter came to find the movie’s human protagonist Tim Goodman (Justice Smith). The remainder of the footage largely presents a showcase of the movie’s live-action Pokémon, including the likes of Snorlax, Snubbull, Cubone and yep, Flareon too. The trailer caps off with the surprise debut of a particularly exciting Pocket Monster, which I’ll leave to viewers to discover for themselves. Check out the new trailer below.

There’s definately some Wailord-sized hype surrounding Detective Pikachu, the movie not only boasting the charismatic voice talents of Ryan Reynolds, but also featuring the first iteration of live-action Pokémon on the big screen. Theater turnout seems promising enough that a sequel movie is rumored to already be in the works. Of course, our lightning-tailed investigator isn’t the only Poké-movie in town as Mewtwo is also getting a theatrical showing later this year.

Pokémon Detective Pikachu will arrive in theaters on May 10th.
