Mortal Kombat 11: New Geras Fatality Is The Most Gruesome One Yet (VIDEO)

Characters from both past and present converge in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11, with developer NetherRealm Studios pulling no punches in decking out the roster’s respective movesets. This is looking to allow for all sorts of brutal matchups, each fighter’s array of attacks punctuated by their own personal Fatal Blows and Fatalities.

While we’ve already seen a number of these blood-splattering maneuvers in action, a newly-revealed Fatality for Geras has delved decidedly deep into the realm of savagery. Revealed in a new video, the master of sand‘s latest move summons a large rock and embeds his opponent into it. Geras follows this up with a particularly gory display; proceeding to viciously tear his foe’s skin right off their body. Check it out in the video below.

While not as spectacularly stomach-churning as Fatalities from other roster members, the sheer brutality of this one arguably places it among the top. With each new iteration of the series, fighters’ finishers are continuously ramped up to new, over the-top degrees, an admitted intent on the part of NetherRealm. Among the lengthy development work, this is done to both keep the game fresh and remove players from the realm of realism.

With release just within reach, the final push for Mortal Kombat 11 reveals has begun, evident by the double debut of Kano and Cassie Cage happening over the span of a single day. New story details are also becoming increasingly available more known following a dazzling trailer teasing the game’s goods and further elaboration from a recent developer interview.

Mortal Kombat 11 will release for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 23rd. A pre-order Beta is set to begin on March 28th.
