New Mortal Kombat 11 Story Details Revealed

Mortal Kombat 11 Story Details

Will just a little over a month to go until fans can get their hands on Mortal Kombat 11, NetherRealm Studios is beginning to unveil more and more about the highly-anticipated title. That said, while the game will certainly feature a bounty of fighting, there will also be some story to go along with it.

Thanks to a recent interview between Gamereactor and Mortal Kombat 11 story director Dominic Cianciolo, we now know a bit more of what the narrative side of things will have in store for fans, including how long it will take to finish. We already know that the upcoming game will feature some time manipulation with the likes of Kronica hanging around. Characters will be essentially facing-off against themselves as time becomes more and more skewed.

However, how long will all of this take to complete? “I can roughly estimate how long the cinematics and everything are, but I can’t tell you exactly how long the story mode will be,” Cianciolo said. “We did however learn from a representative that the story is looking to be around eight hours long,” according to Gamereactor.

In addition to this, Cianciolo also noted why the Mortal Kombat franchise seems to place a heavier focus on a single-player experience more than other fighting titles. He said, “I’m not sure why that is but all the data bears out the fact that our single player mode is one of our most popular ways for people to access and experience the game and that’s a big reason as to why we spend so much time and energy into making that single player experience as robust as it is.”

Mortal Kombat 11 is set to arrive on April 23rd for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
