Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy PC Requirements Revealed (UPDATED)
UPDATE: In the days since appearing on Steam, Square Enix has revealed a slight alteration to Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy PC requirements. Though initially requiring a sizeable 150 GB in storage, the game is now confirmed to comprise “approximately 80 GB.” The lower storage figure was said to be owed to a series of final-stage optimizations made by the team. The original story is as follows.
Hey everyone! We wanted to give you an update on the final size of the PC version of the game, which will not be 150 GB. The team is in the last stages of optimizing the final game and we can confirm the file size will be approximately 80 GB at launch.

ORIGINAL:
Marvel has long held a strong presence in the video game industry, with its many licensing agreements marking several pieces of that current foothold. While Square Enix found mixed success with their ambitious Marvel’s Avengers game, hopes have been high for the developer’s new Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy game. While the title will be significantly smaller in scope than the Earth’s mightiest heroes, the pre-release has suggested a powerful game with high-quality graphics meant for PC or next-gen consoles. Now, Square Enix has released Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy PC requirements ahead of the game’s launch.
Square Enix has updated the Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy listing on Steam for PC with its technical requirements and recommendations. The big thing to note is that the game will require 150 GB of storage space on PC. While that is a fairly significant amount of storage space needed, even topping Marvel’s Avengers’s recommended 110GB of space for the base game, and some updates. Still, that is not the biggest storage requirement ever, with the combo of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone famously topping 200GB before being reduced with regular updates.
The minimum and recommended specs read as follows:
MINIMUM:
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows® 10 64 bit Build 1803
- Processor: AMD Ryzen™ 5 1400 / Intel® Core™ i5-4460
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 / AMD Radeon™ RX 570
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 150 GB available space
RECOMMENDED:
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows® 10 64 bit Build 1803
- Processor: AMD Ryzen™ 5 1600 / Intel® Core™ i7-4790
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 Super / AMD Radeon™ RX 590
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 150 GB available space
The minimum of GTX 1060 or a Radeon RX 570 graphics cards on PC are suggested to be fairly low for a game this advanced, as both hardware is several years old at this point. While this will be a fairly self-contained gaming experience, with no expected online or major DLC components, for now, it is still quite a gorgeous-looking game. Hopefully, these Guardians of the Galaxy PC requirements don’t scare too many fans away or have them asking “Why is Gamora?”
