Call Of Duty: Warzone Receiving File Size Drop In New Update

Call of Duty: Warzone

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone shared an obscenely large file size, opening the door for jokes about not having room for other games. The ridiculous size has seen some decreases over time but it’s still quite large. The latest update however is taking a good-sized chunk off the hefty file size, allowing players to have a chance to finally be able to download and play other games without removing Call of Duty from its oh-so-precious pedestal.

Now that the patch has arrived it has also given players a slew of new and different content, from changes to the map rotations for various game modes to new Zombies Content, and even some new features for players to check out. However, even with loads of new content for players to enjoy, Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War, and Warzone are all getting considerably smaller in file size, which is a strong feat in and of itself.

Of course, while there will be a drop in size for all players, there is also the chance to drop the total amount needed by switching off various game modes such as the campaign, multiplayer, or Spec Ops modes to further reduce the size. According to the developers, the size drop should be in the range of 10.9 GB and 14.2 GB for Warzone or 30.6 GB and 33.6 GB for Modern Warfare/ Warzone. Again this will depend on what platform the players are using as well as what data packs they choose to keep or remove. Black Ops Cold War will also see a drop as well, though, seemingly not as much. Still, it is something to look forward to.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Warzone, and Black Ops Cold War are currently available for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
