Kingdom Hearts 3 Debuts Big Hero 6 World In New Trailer (VIDEO)
Being referenced in a hot new Eminem track looked to be this week’s highlight for Kingdom Hearts franchise, but a showcase at Tokyo Game Show 2018 seems to have wholly changed all that. Debuting at the Japanese event was an exciting new look at Kingdom Hearts 3 and the surprise addition of the animated Disney/Marvel world of Big Hero 6.
The new footage depicts our heroes Sora, Goofy, and Donald as they stumble upon the futuristic setting of San Fransokyo and find themselves face to face with the Big Hero 6 crew. Baymax introduces himself (as he tends to do), as Hiro and the ensemble of Go Go, Wasabi, Honey Lemon soon follow and showcase their unique and vibrant abilities.
If being treated to this new world wasn’t enough, the above Kingdom Hearts 3 footage also provided new scenes from previously confirmed settings such as a confrontation with Randall from Monsters Inc, a meeting with Tangled’s Flynn and Rapunzel, and a standoff alongside the Toy Story gang. We also get a glorious gameplay montage featuring a Big Hero 6-themed keyblade and more of that custom Gummi Ship action.
This gorgeous step into the Big Hero 6 universe is just one of the many offerings of Kingdom Hearts 3 has touted, as there’s a confirmed 80+ hours of content for players to enjoy. This includes the reveal of each world’s signature boss and corresponding boss battle, a detail Square Enix has intentionally remained silent about. If these tasks seem too daunting on top of following the series’ notoriously convoluted lore, players will also have multiple in-game means to get up to speed when Kingdom Hearts 3 launches for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 29th, 2019.
