Halo 6 Could Feature A VR Experience, According To Recent Listing
Halo has been around for quite awhile and although a large majority of the titles in the franchise have been first-person shooters, occasionally a different type of game comes out such as the Halo Wars series. Now it looks as though the current developer of the franchise, 343 Industries, is looking to expand itself into Virtual Reality. A job listing on LinkedIn indicates that a VR Halo title may be in the works.
The listing reveals that the developer is looking for a new Creative Director who can help create a new VR entry for the Halo universe. Whether that means Halo 6 will feature a VR experience, or a separate entity all together remains to be seen. Check out a snipped of the full listing below:
343 Industries is looking for a Creative Director to join us in delivering an all new VR experience in the Halo universe. Halo is known for its epic sci-fi worlds, its transmedia storytelling, and its heroic gameplay – VR brings the potential for a new level of immersion in our universe.”
Unfortunately, the job listing doesn’t provide any details as to what fans can expect in regards to what kind of experience the title entails. The title could be anything from a core installment, to standalone experience. With the vast amount of lore surrounding the Halo franchise, there is plenty of material to work with. For example, it would be interesting to see a title that delves into the history of the Forerunners and the parasitic space potatoes known as the Flood.
The upcoming VR Halo title won’t be the first of its kind as a wave shooter called Halo: Recruit takes that spot, however with 343 Industries behind the helm – it’s sure to be a treat.
