God Of War Sequel May Focus On Kratos And His Wife, Faye
Ever since God of War released as a PlayStation exclusive, fans of Santa Monica Studios’ revival of the epic series have been clamoring for a sequel after being left with the cliffhanger ending from the first game. While there has been very little talk of the game recently save for the desire to see it release on PC, it has been revealed that a possible God of War sequel may end up going back in time to further explore the relationship between Kratos and his departed wife, Faye.
In a recent interview with the folks over at PlayStation Access, God of War game director Cory Barlog spoke about his desire to explore Faye’s backstory, something that had significance throughout the entirety of the first game. “Faye was the one I identified with the most.” Barlog explains. “You get to understand that she has way more power than all of them and is actually the controller of so much in this universe.”
That way when we build this up to when you actually get to see this, and I hope… I don’t know how we’re going [to] tell this or when we’re going to tell this, but I really want to tell the story of Kratos and Faye meeting.”
There are of course a few different ways the folks at Santa Monica studios can do this. The most plausible way is to introduce the actual character through flashback cutscenes in a proper sequel to 2018’s God of War, though that would also mean that Faye would have to be somehow relevant to the events of the story. Anything is possible given her connection to both Kratos and Atreus, so for now, we’ll just have to wait and see.
God of War is currently available for the PlayStation 4.
