God Of War PC Mod Brings Back Kratos’ Original Look (VIDEO)

God of War PC

As Sony has somewhat loosened the reigns on its exclusive franchises, with fans being benefited in seeing their favorite games coming to PC. In the past few years, the market has seen the likes of Horizon Zero Dawn and Uncharted come to PC for the first time. As is common to the platform, the modding community often takes notice when these games finally make it to PC. Such is the case now with the God of War PC version, as one talented modder has brought back the original look of Kratos.

Omega Fantasy on YouTube showed off a look at their new God of Mar PC mod in a series of recent videos. The mod faithfully recreates the original look of Kratos from the original trilogy of God of War games from the PlayStation 2 and 3 eras, but now for the new 2018 sequel game. Gone now is Kratos’s new dad beard, replaced with his classic goatee, and the removal of his shoulder pauldron’s allow for every bit of his muscular pecs to be seen as well.

Videos from the creator show the God of War PC mod in the game’s intro scene, Kratos’ first encounter with Baldur, and wielding the Blades of Chaos. As per the videos’ descriptions, the mod appears to be a custom creation by Omega Fantasy and is not freely available for download yet. In addition, the gameplay is also confirmed to utilize a separate mod created by NexusMods user VVVvisalVVV, which removes all the armor from Kratos’ body.

While the God of War PC mod is not the most dynamic, it is quite refreshing to see the classic Kratos look recreated in modern super high-quality graphics. Seeing this mod has given many fans the need to vocalize desires for a remake of the original God of War games for modern consoles and PC. Maybe if enough fans leave their demands with Sony, might it just make such a trilogy remake a reality? If not, God of War Ragnarok still remains on the horizon, boy.
