God Of War ‘Ragnarok’ Title Confusion Cleared Up By Sony
The latest God of War game managed to do quite a lot with its change in setting and tone, going from the hyper-aggressive murder spree through Greek gods and goddesses to the almost serene and mystical adventure through the Nordic pantheon. The ending was quite mysterious as well, leaving fans with more questions than answers and setting itself up for a continuation in the future. While it seemed as if Sony’s upcoming sequel for the game was confirmed to be titled God of War: Ragnarok, the company has issued a statement saying otherwise.
Reports began to come in suggesting that the logo for the God of War sequel used in a previous Investors Relations presentation was one made by a fan and not an official one for the actual game. A Sony spokesperson confirmed this was the case in a recent statement sent to IGN. “The name and logo for our upcoming God of War game are not yet final,” the spokesperson said. “An incorrect logo was mistakenly used in our Investor Relations presentation. We can’t wait to share more and apologize for any confusion.”

The confusion may have been cleared up, but if anything it just leaves fans even more hungry for what’s to come. There’s been no word on when the next addition to the God of War franchise will arrive or even what it will be about at this point, though a few assumptions can be made based on the ending of the first game.
