Genshin Impact Announced For Epic Games Store

Genshin Impact developer miHoYo has been marching to its own tune since the gacha game’s release last year, with the studio being deservedly choosy about which platforms host the popular title. As such, it comes as a bit of a surprise to hear that Genshin Impact is officially making its way to the Epic Games Store PC platform later this month.

Genshin Impact’s miHoYo took to social media today to announce that the game is coming to the Epic Games Store on June 9, 2021. Its arrival on the Epic Games Store also just so happens to line up with the release of the game’s Version 1.6 update, Midsummer Island Adventure, which introduces players to the Summer Islands and various interesting additions to the game. “When developing Genshin Impact, one of our main focuses has been to make the game available on a wide range of platforms so players can play alone or together with friends regardless of how they choose to play it,” said miHoYo president Forrest Lin.

The Epic Games Store is an expert in PC gaming, and we’re privileged to work with Epic to bring Genshin Impact to a broader global gaming community.”

As for what potential benefits the arrival of Genshin Impact on the Epic Games Store could bring, the store’s page for the game doesn’t mention anything extra, it simply seems like another way to launch into the game. On the plus side, fans can enter in the redemption code GenshinEpic on miHoYo’s website starting on June 9 for a “special gift to help Travelers on their new journey.” We’re hoping it’s primogems.

Genshin Impact is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, and Android & iOS devices.
