Genshin Impact’s Version 1.6 Trailer Showcases A Midsummer Island Adventure (VIDEO)
With summer rapidly approaching, Genshin Impact developer miHoYo is putting away the heavy coats and celebrating the warm weather with a lovely trip to the Summer islands. Though the long-anticipated Inazuma region is still locked away, players can at least look forward to some fun in the sun as showcased by the newly released Version 1.6 trailer, titled Midsummer Island Adventure.
Genshin Impact’s miHoYo took to Youtube today to unveil the trailer for the game’s Version 1.6. Releasing next month, the new update brings with it the Summer Islands, which act as a sort of midway point between the Mondstadt/Liyue region of the world and Inazuma. Players can explore these islands using their new boat vessel, called the Waverider Check out some of the story beats and Summer Island activities in the trailer below:
While there’s plenty of fun in the sun to be had, Version 1.6 isn’t all about relaxing on beaches and drinking out of coconuts. Players will have to contend with the new boss called the Maguu Kenki, which is basically a ghost-samurai magical puppet entity. This task will be made easier by the arrival of Kazuha, the game’s first Inazuma character. Since Klee is the star of the show for Version 1.6, her rerun banner will debut prior to Kazuha’s release. Also on deck for Version 1.6 are the first purchasable cosmetic skins, summer outfits for both Jean and Barbara. Jean’s will be purchasable for Genesis Crystals (real money), while Barbara’s can be obtained for free via the Echoing Tales event.
Version 1.6 also brings with the ability to place owned characters into their Serenitea pots. Called the Character Move-In Feature, players will be able to interact with their placed characters for primogems and other resources. So, that grand library that you’ve built? Lisa can watch over it now. Did you build yourself an elaborate and beautiful bedroom? Please, let poor Ganyu get the sleep she deserves. Characters placed within the Serenitea pot will also gain Character Companionship Experience over time, and the rate is increased with a higher Adeptal Energy Rank.
New quality of life features are also shipping with Genshin Impact Version 1.6. Killing an elite enemy marked from the Adventurer’s book will now shift the mark to another enemy of the same type, complete with a marker on the map. New hotkeys are being added for PC players to open the Party Setup and Friend List screens (finally!), and there will also be a new option to preview enemies inside a domain. Last but certainly not least, some characters are also getting new in-battle voice lines.
Genshin Impact’s Version 1.6 will be releasing on June 9, 2021. The game is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, and Android & iOS devices.
