Fortnite Announces Season 6 Release Date

Fortnite Announces Season 6 Release Date

With a new Monopoly game and the next Fall Skirmish on the way, it’d be easy to forget that Fortnite has been seemingly teasing the end of its fifth season of content. The next incoming season looks to be preparing a wave of changes for players, with a series of weird purple Cube shenanigans setting these events in motion. After a long spell of silence, Epic Games has finally announced when we can expect the culmination of all this nonsense, having now revealed the release date for Fortnite Season 6.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the date of September 27th was unveiled as the official start of Season 6, leaving less than a week (as of writing) for players to assemble their hype accordingly. Alongside the reveal of this quickly-approaching launch, players are being given ample opportunity to celebrate in battle royale fashion, with Fortnite offering a 400% boost in match XP from now until September 24th.

Season 5 of Fortnite has been building toward Season 6 pretty much since the get-go, with random rifts teleporting landmarks into the real world, violent lightning strikes birthing a purple Cube into existence, and said Cube transforming Loot Lake into a bouncy Flubber-like substance. What comes next will surely be an anticipated event for fans, as it’ll likely see the game further changed by a new bout of weirdness. Fortnite is now available on Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
